Our team consists of highly qualified, very professional staff members who are committed to completing projects with excellence and exceeding the expectations of our clients.

Our staff includes the following:

Professional Engineers - Eight (8) with a combined 190 years of professional experience.

Ecologists/Biologists - Four senior members head up a biological staff of ecological studies in conjunction with highways and pipelines, from looking for a variety of threatened and endangered species to maintaining habitat for such species. Wetland delineations are an important element of their work.

Remendation Specialists - Eight (8) with over eighty years of experience, from leaking underground storage tanks to manufactured gas plants (MGP) sites.

Geologist - One (1) professional geologist and one (1) project geologist with experience in environmental investigations and remediation in the petroleum and agri-chemical industries

Air Quality -One (1) senior staff member plus junior staff with experience from air permitting for new facilities Title V permits, to emission modeling.

Noise Modeling - Five (5) staff members have received formal training using the Traffic Noise Model (TNM). Huff & Huff, Inc. currently holds the Statewide Noise Contract from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Water Quality Impacts/ Anti-degradation Analyses/ Stream Surveys - Seven (7) staff members have extensive experience with collecting biological stream data (fish, benthic, mussels and chemistry) and analyzing the projected impacts of the new projects on the receiving stream.

Our two principal owners are Linda Huff and James Huff:

Linda Huff, P.E.
As President of Huff & Huff, Inc., Ms. Huff has participated and directed a variety of projects involved with NEPA, environmental impact, economic impact, risk assessments, water quality evaluations, and design of sustainable stormwater solutions.

Project experience also includes remedial investigations for a variety of hazardous waste sources, stormwater impacts, and environmental assessments. Risk assessments following U.S. EPA Soil Screening protocol and ASTM's RBCA protocol have been completed for industrial sites. Establishment of clean up criteria have resulted in site closures.

Environmental evaluations related to the transportation projects have been completed including technical resources reports for environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements. She is an EIS lead in Illinois and Indiana.

James Huff, P.E.
Mr. Huff is responsible for projects pertaining to wastewater treatment design, hazardous waste management, groundwater and soil remediation, compliance assessments, and anti-degradation analyses. He is a member of the State of Illinois Technical Advisory Committee for developing nutrient standards.

Mr. Huff has designed industrial wastewater treatment plants for foundries, pharmaceutical, chemicals, plating, metal working and printed circuit board industries. Mr. Huff has also directed nine municipal wastewater treatment design projects and five small (10,000 gpd) community subsurface anaerobic systems over the past twenty years. Two novel in-stream aeration systems, using high-purity oxygen on a shallow Illinois stream, were designed and installed in 1984/85.

In the hazardous waste field, over fifty industrial plants have relied on Mr. Huff's expertise for complying with the regulations. Mr. Huff has provided the required RCRA and DOT training, prepared security plans, inspection plans, contingency plans, training plans, and waste minimization plans. Remediation investigations, many associated with underground storage tank releases, former manufactured gas plant sites, chlorinated solvents, and petroleum are a major portion of Mr. Huff's activities.
